Level 4: Advanced

For individuals in higher level management or technical roles.  They grasp advanced office software and/or understand digitalisation and agtech opportunities.  They are ready to deep dive into specific topics, advanced software use or, start a Diploma in Business Management.

Course 4A:

Ag tech skills

(free cluster)

Topics include:  

  • Collect, record & manage data
  • Programmable logic controller 
  • Supervisory control & data acquisition
  • Positioning basics

Good to know:

  • Free.
  • All topics are online.  
  • Student must have a computer with internet connection, and earbuds/earphones.
  • Once enrolled, a weblink will be emailed to student.  They can login to start training at their own pace.
  • Each topic will take around 2 hours to complete -pending existing skill level.

Course 4B:

Ag tech skills

(fee for service)

Topics include:  

  • Diagnostics and fault responses ($77)
  • Geospatial ($77)
  • Introduction to autonomous equipment ($77)
  • Sensors and monitoring devices ($77)
  • Cyber security for small to medium sized businesses ($175)

USQ / IBM Skillsbuild

Is an online portal accessible for training in various digital courses.  

Developed in partnership between University of Southern Queensland and IBM.

For those who are keen to learn more – this is a great opportunity.

Course 4D: 

Software skills

Choose from one of the following:

  • Microsoft Outlook Advanced
  • Microsoft Word Advanced
  • Microsoft Excel Advanced
  • Microsoft Excel – Data Analysis

Student must have:

  • PC or laptop (with 2nd screen)
  • Zoom app installed
  • Headphone/earbuds with microphone.
  • Microsoft Office Professional

Level 4E: Digital business management skills –

Network fundamentals for your business

A 2 – 3 hour online session that includes:

  • Knowledge of networking concepts
  • Knowledge of network types
  • Understanding of network components
  • Knowledge of key networking terms
  • Understanding of network models
  • Knowledge of network protocols
  • Understanding of networking now and into the future.

Good to know:

  • Free
  • Online 
  • Student must have a computer with internet connection, and earbuds/earphones.

  • This whole course is 2 to 3 hours long.

Level 4E: Digital business management skills –

Workplace Cyber Security Foundations

A virtual classroom on Tuesday and Friday nights (6.30pm to 8pm), over 3 weeks.  Topics include:

  • Identify and report online security threats
  • Apply cyber hygiene best practices
  • Identify and assess cyber security insider threats and risks

Extra entry requirements:  3 years work experience in a business setting or an operator of a small business in the past 12 months.

Level 4E: Digital business management skills –

Farm Business Management Skillset

Operating your agribusiness within a digital context:

  •  AHCBUS512 Develop & implement family business structures and relationships
  • AHCBUS516 Develop & review a business plan
  • AHCBUS517 Monitor & review business performance
  • BSBRSK501 Manage risk

A 4-day face to face workshop, with digital course notes etc. 

Locations to be advised. 

Training group must have a minimum of 10 participants.
